WHEN SUBMITTING TO DIRECTORIES, THE FOLLOWING SUGGESTIONS SHOULD HELP.

Their are hundreds of excellent directories out there which allows you to be very selective.

1/ If agreeing to submission rules, do not agree to a blank sheet.

2/ Always check carefully the directory site's rules. Many you may not agree too e.g. "You agree to receive regular emails offering various services".

3/ If confirmation arrives that your site has been accepted, thank the sender by return mail. Yes some will bounce back.

4/ If your site is rejected, keep an up-to-date list of those directories and reasons for rejection. This helps our sister sites.

5/ Check the number of pending submissions in the directory. Some have thousands waiting.

6/ Some directories will advise in their rules that they reserve the right to reject your site for any reason. No point in submitting.

7/ If an older directory has just a few (4-5) cooking sites listed, they are obviously not accepting free submissions.

8/ A "free" directory is not one that requires a recipricol link.
